General Application Requirements (2026-2027 FALL Semester)

Since Gazi University Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology may set criteria and special conditions above the minimum application requirements for specific departments and programs, it is important to review the relevant program requirements and other announcements prior to applying. 

  1. Since detailed information and any changes regarding the admission process for graduate programs will be announced on the Institute's websites, those concerned are required to follow these pages regularly.
  2. Except for non-thesis master's programs, it is not possible to enroll in or attend more than one graduate program simultaneously. If the applicant is currently enrolled in a graduate program with a thesis, they must deregister from that program (as visible on YÖKSİS) to enroll in the newly admitted program. This verification is conducted during the Final Registration stage, rather than the application stage.
  3. In graduate applications, candidates have a maximum right to apply to two programs in total across all Institutes of Gazi University (excluding non-thesis master's programs). The evaluation of each program applied for by the candidate is calculated independently.
  4. Simultaneous applications cannot be made to more than one of the programs announced at our Institute (excluding non-thesis master's programs).
  5. Candidates who hold a bachelor's degree or a certificate of equivalence/school recognition issued by the Council of Higher Education and who are able to graduate by the final registration date may apply to master's programs.
  6. Candidates who hold a master's degree or a master's equivalence/school recognition certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education may apply to doctoral programs. Candidates who have not yet graduated from a master's program are not eligible to apply.
  7. Students who graduated from non-thesis master's programs prior to 06/02/2013, or who enrolled in a non-thesis master's program before this date and subsequently graduated, may apply to doctoral programs.
  8. In the calculation of the graduation grade or the cumulative grade point average (CGPA), the Council of Higher Education's conversion table between the 4-point and 100-point systems shall be taken as the basis.
  9. The cumulative grade point averages, programs of graduation, and other required information of the candidates are retrieved via YÖKSİS (for those who graduated from higher education institutions in Türkiye). Any changes that may occur in the cumulative grade point averages and other information of these candidates in the YÖKSİS database after the application date shall not be taken into consideration. Candidates without a YÖKSİS record must complete the necessary YÖKSİS registration and update procedures with the higher education institutions from which they graduated or will graduate during the application process. 
  10. For students who are eligible to graduate and whose applications to master's programs are conditionally accepted, the grade point average available in the YÖKSİS database as of the application date shall be taken as the basis for their cumulative grade point average. Any changes to the cumulative grade point averages of these candidates in the YÖKSİS database after the application date shall not be taken into consideration. Candidates whose applications are conditionally accepted shall exercise their right to enroll, provided that their graduation grade point averages satisfy the application criteria. Candidates without a YÖKSİS record must complete the necessary YÖKSİS registration and update procedures with the higher education institutions from which they graduated or will graduate during the application process.   Note: Undergraduate students who are at the graduation stage but have not yet graduated and will apply for master's programs must upload the CONDITIONAL ENROLLMENT PETITION (For Those Who Can Graduate From an Undergraduate Program) after filling it out and signing it to the Documents/Undergraduate Diploma field. Write a conditional enrollment petition in the description.)
  11. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate/thesis master's program abroad must possess an equivalence/school recognition certificate for their diplomas issued by the Council of Higher Education.
  12. An ALES score is not required for graduates of Doctoral, Medical Specialization (TUS), Dental Specialization (DUS), and Pharmacy Specialization (EUS) programs in their applications to master's and/or doctoral programs. Within this scope, the ALES score to be included in program application calculations has been set at 75 by the Gazi University Senate. Candidates who fulfill the other Special Conditions of the program will be eligible to apply.
  13. The evaluation and the announcement of results will be carried out as specified in the link.
  14. Applications and Final Registrations will be conducted online, and candidates are required to approve the Application Confirmation (I Accept) Text and the Final Registration Commitment Text in the system. Applications that are not approved will not be considered.
  15. The responsibility for missing documents and incorrect statements rests with the candidate. Even if the candidates have completed their application, final registration, or course registration, the applications or registrations of those found to be in non-compliance with the general conditions or the special conditions of the programs will be cancelled in accordance with the relevant articles of the Gazi University Graduate Education-Training and Examination Regulation and the Gazi University Directive on the Admission of International/Foreign Students to Graduate Programs.   16. For matters not specified above, the Gazi University Master's Education-Training Implementation Principles, Doctoral Education-Training Implementation Principles, Senate decisions, and the conditions announced by the Institute shall be taken into consideration.   17. Tables used in graduate applications:
  • DIPLOMA GRADE: In the calculation of the graduation grade or the cumulative grade point average (CGPA), the Council of Higher Education's conversion table between the 4-point and 100-point systems shall be taken as the basis.   • FOREIGN LANGUAGE: (YDS/e-YDS/YÖKDİL/e-YÖKDİL are valid for 5 years, whereas the validity period for TOEFL IBT is 2 years.) Central foreign language exams approved by the Council of Higher Education, as well as international exams whose equivalence has been recognized, are accepted. Unless a validity date is specified on the result document, the scores of international foreign language exams with recognized equivalence can be used for equivalence purposes for a period of 5 (five) years starting from the exam date stated on the document. Please click to view ÖSYM Foreign Language Exam Equivalencies.

  • For GRE/GMAT exam scores to be transferred to the application system, they must be submitted in person to the student affairs office of our Institute during working hours between June 01, 2026, and June 19, 2026.
  • As for the foreign language exam scores with ÖSYM equivalence, they are valid for 2 years. To transfer them to the application system, they must be submitted in person to the Student Affairs Office of our Institute during working hours between June 1, 2026, and June 19, 2026. 
  • >>>> It is the student's responsibility to follow the statuses regarding their application (Approved Status + Incorrect Application (Editable), and Rejected statuses) during the student application process.
  • International candidates are required to document that they possess Turkish language proficiency at least at the B2 level in the Turkish proficiency exam conducted within the framework of the principles determined by the Gazi University TÖMER Directorate.
  • International students are required to submit their valid residence permit documents in person to the student affairs office of our Institute during business hours between June 1, 2026, and June 19, 2026.
  • International candidates are required to submit a valid residence permit.(Letter of the Ministry of Interior Presidency of Migration Management dated 27.06.2024 and numbered 272105, EBYS 02.07.2024-E.984587)  
  • You are required to upload your biometric passport-sized photograph to the application system for use in the application.
  • The candidate is responsible for any incomplete or incorrect information provided and documents uploaded during the application. After completing the application process, log in to the system again and check your information.
  • Male candidates who are citizens of the Republic of Türkiye must upload their military status documents, obtained within the last week as of the application date, to the system. (https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/mill-savunma-askerligim) 
    •Candidates currently serving as military personnel shall upload their duty station documents or personnel identification cards to the system.

Gazi University Graduate Education, Training, and Examination Regulation Registration Procedures

MADDE 7 – (1) Final registration procedures are carried out by the relevant institute within the period announced on the website and in accordance with the announced principles.

(2) Candidates who do not complete their final registration within the designated period shall forfeit their right to register. In place of these candidates, the candidates on the reserve list shall be admitted in order, as announced. The responsibility for following the announcements and updates regarding them rests with the candidates.

 (3) Except for non-thesis master's programs, it is not possible to enroll in and attend more than one graduate program simultaneously.

According to Article 39 (3), which states, 'The student is obliged to follow the messages sent to the student's e-mail address,' all types of notifications to the student will be sent to the student's e-mail address in the Student Affairs Information System.

Note: Following the submission of their graduate applications through the system between June 01, 2026, and June 19, 2026, the applications of international candidates will be approved, provided that they submit the originals of their documents to the Institute in person or via a power of attorney certified by a notary public until June 22, 2026.
